Lapageria

An evergreen, twining climber with dark green, leathery leaves. It has beautiful bell-shaped flowers the hang down from autumn to mid winter. Lapagerias are notoriously difficult to find and to grow, they like a shaded position in the garden, or a shaded, humid area, such as a fernery. They will flower in either full or part shade.

Lapageria rosea ‘Pink Blush’

This is a gorgeous soft soft pink. We have it growing up a structure and a tree in the Front garden where it is out of the sun and wind.

Lapageria rosea Alba

The wonderful white version of Lapageria.

This one grows on our back veranda in the shade. It gets exposed to the elements a bit which is why it sulks and tries it’s hardest not to flower and grow.

Lapageria rosea

The solid red flowering version of Lapageria. This one is the happiest in the garden as it is growing with the Acers on the back veranda in full shade and totally protected hence is it our most prolific flowering one.
