Myosotidium

Myosotidium hortensia

Myosotidium hortensia is known commonly as the Chatham Island Forget-Me-Not as it is from the Chatham Island off New Zealand and it’s flowers are similar to an oversized Forget-Me-Not.

A beauty with large, glossy leaves, it is an outstanding, evergreen perennial. And the leaves are big, up to 30cm long, with textured ribs.

And if the foliage is not enough of a drawcard, there are amazing blue blooms to complete the picture. The flowers are a myriad of blues from dark to light throughout the spring and summer months.

They have a reputation for being difficult, but give them compost rich soil that is well drained and kept moist and cool and they will prosper.

We have both the Blue and the much rarer White form.
