Persicaria

Persicaria microcephala ‘Red Dragon’

Stunning foliage is the calling card of Persicaria ‘Red Dragon’. Ranging from a deep red all the way through to a deep plum, marked with a silver ‘V’, it is everything you want, even though you didn’t know it.

It does best in a bit of shade with some water, even though they claim it does full sun, it’s too dry where we are to not put it in the shade. In addition to the foliage it does bear spires of delicate white flowers that float beautifully in a border.

Grows to around 50cm and spreads to about the same. We have it in our Stone Wall Garden in probably a little bit too much sun but this is a tough little plant. Just how we like them.
