Styrax japonicus

A very showy and elegant small ornamental tree with graceful spreading branches and rounded crown.  In Spring it displays beautiful pendulous drooping white flowers hanging below the branches, as indicated by its common name Japanese Snowbell Tree.  Even better, they are fragrant.  The foliage is lovely too, a bright green that contrasts beautifully with the flowers.  We have it growing in our South Garden, as it likes moisture but apparently it can do full sun, we just don’t dare risk it though as our full sun and other’s interpretation of full sun are probably different…
